Attention Agents:

The Anime Secrets Halloween Cosplay Contest Judging Panel has at long last reached a consensus on the winners of this year's contest. I'd like to congratulate everyone who entered this contest, winner or not. It takes a lot of effort to make remarkable costumes that kept the judges busy trying to determine a winner. In some cases a winner was determined with a point gap of half a point between them and the next entrant in the ranking system. So thanks and congratulations to all! Results may be found here. Also the Forum Gallery has been updated with all entrants from this year's contest.

In other news, Agent Dante is currently in the process of putting together a StarCraft Tournament. For those interested in partaking in the tournament, check back regularly, and post your interest at the forum

Attention Agents:

Just a few quick announcements, first off the intro session of Anime Secrets' latest Dungeons and Dragons game, The Shattered Coast was a success, and the second session is being scheduled for tonight at 7:30 Central/8:30 Eastern Time. Logs for Session 1 are online here. Currently there are no openings to join the game late, but all are invited to observe. Game is played on the rizon channel (irc.rizon.net) in channel #asdnd. Also accessible by the forum.

Second, as many of you have heard through the grapevines, Funimation is sponsoring prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of this year's Halloween Cosplay Contest. Prizes this year are:

First Place - 3 Box Sets of winner's choosing from Funimation
Second Place - 2 Box Sets of winner's choosing from Funimation
Third Place - 1 Box Sets of winner's choosing from Funimation and promotional postcards

As promised in the announcement letter sent to the mailing list on Thursday, Anime Secrets is ready to unveil the first two of three currently planned events. Firstly as some may have noticed, the Dungeons and Dragons games hosted by us had been discontinued over the summer due to a lack of Dungeon Masters to organize and run the games. However, Paltir, a member of the forums, has expressed interest in running a Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 edition game for those who would like to play. He will be meeting with anyone wanting to play this Monday, October 12th at 7PM in the IRC channel to discuss the game and rolling sheets.Those unable to come to the channel at that time are encouraged to post on the thread in the forums stating an interest to play, along with times you are free to do so.

Secondly, following the tremendous success of last year’s Halloween Cosplay Contest, we have decided to bring the contest back for a second year. The rules are pretty much the same as last year with the exception of one rule forbidding entrants in the 2008 contest to reenter the same costume as last time. We are at current in the process of negotiating prizes for the winners of this year’s contest, and are very confident in acquiring some great prizes once again for everyone! Also in other news, we have published another interview from Otakon 2009 to Anime Secrets TV. This time it iss with the talented Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. Hope you enjoy, and as always be on the look out for more content to be added periodically to the site in the coming weeks!

In order to bring the coverage from MechaCon 5.0 and Otakon 2009 online, Anime Secrets has opened a youtube channel entitled Anime Secrets TV, which will feature interviews, cosplay contest footage, video journals, and much more. Tonight I am pleased to announce the release of the first of many such videos. Well the Halloween Cosplay Contest has come to an end (ironically on Christmas Day), and I'd like to first of all congratulate all entrants of the contest for helping to make our first Cosplay Contest such a success. In the end we were only able to select three entries as our winners, in addition to eight Honorable Mentions. All results of the contest may be found here. Expect all contestant entries to be uploaded in the next two to three days for general viewing. All the judges have come together, voted, and narrowed down our selection from fifty-six entrants to seven entrants fighting for the rights of 2nd and 3rd places (1st place is already determined). However, to select the 2nd and 3rd place winners, we are calling in the help of you, the community and visitors. There is a poll on the forums where I encourage all of you to vote. After eleven years of airtime, the Cartoon Network action block, Toonami has been discontinued as of September 20th, 2008. For some this news may not mean much, and for others it means the end of a childhood memory. However, I would like to take a moment to bid Toonami farewell, and thank the producers of Toonami for helping the evolution of anime on the North American continent.
