Taking place 75 years after Steel Angel Kurumi, Kagura Nako is the descendant of Nakahito from the first series.
Following in his footsteps, she and her best friend Uruka stumble upon some old tunnels leading beneath Nako’s house.
Upon arriving at the end they stumble upon Kurumi, the Steel Angel. It just so happens Nako accidently kisses Kurumi and
activates her. Agitated by the situation, Uruka gets jealous of their relationship and she gathers as many resources as she
can to her command to get rid of Kurumi and return Nako back to her. However, by resources I mean Saki, another Steel Angel.

Take every character from Steel Angel Kurumi, make them female and lesbian and you might begin to understand what
to expect from Steel Angel Kurumi 2. Not that I have anything against lesbians, but how SAK 2 treats the
subject matter is a complete joke.
The worst aspect of SAK 2 is that they don’t even try to improve the franchise at all and instead head toward some
sick male’s fantasy. Steel Angel Kurumi 2 pretty much can stand by itself and has no real connections to the first
series except having some of the previous characters. Since SAK 2 takes place 75 years after the first series, all of the
angels have completely forgotten the events in the past. Because of this, most of them go through the same plot elements
that were shared in the first series. It’s so mind numbingly boring seeing the same things repeated over and over again,
and the plot doesn’t really help much either. The main character wants to be the best violinist while Kurumi tries to make
this possible. This story is so over dramatized that I couldn’t help but laugh at several of the characters who thought
that a violin competition was a matter of life or death. By the end I can confidently say I lost precious hours of my life
that I want back.
Steel Angel Kurumi 2 has only two good points about it, and one is that the art has improved, but it’s not like
you’re going to watch this series for the art anyway. The other point is SAK 2 actually did something smart and kept
the very catchy opening song from the first series since it was the only thing I looked forward to while watching this
abomination.
The ecchi is still here, for better or for worse, but don’t watch this, not even for the ecchi. Unless you
like a lackluster romance between two women with a similarly lackluster plot, do yourself the favor and do not pick this up.
