<[DM]_Paltir> When we last met our heroes
<[DM]_Paltir> they mingled while they waited for their ship from the port city of Cotswald depart to Azure Bay. During that time a fight broke out, and our hero's struggled to kill a confused swarm of rats hiding in one of the cargo boxes.
<[DM]_Paltir> Thanks to some inginuity on the part of a local sailor, the hero's managed to keep the rats asleep and sweep them into the ocean

<[DM]_Paltir> As the ship begins to depart early the next morning, as high tide turns to low and the sea begins to recede, two men hustle to catch the ship. Lunos, and Joshua, both late to the party

<[PC]_Lunos> - Lunos dashed for the ship as soon as he noticed the unmooring. His black cloak lifted in his wake, and all who looked on saw the slim man with a wickedly curved dagger at his side. Not the most conspicious of entrances he had ever made, but it would do as he reached the ship and ran up the gangplank, just in time so see the last seaman pull the mooring rope

Don't let the ship leave me!!" he continues to run for the ship then slows down for the gangplank to slowly cross it with his clanky scale armor on "Rao, let me cross safely... onto this ship..."

<[DM]_Paltir> More than one sailor pauses for a moment, watching the straggler's enter their ship with disbelief. "Fricking civvies" is passed around and agreed to more times than is necessary, but everyone could see the logic in it....

<[DM]_Paltir> With everyone 'safely' aboard the ship now, the crew shoves off in ernerst, the stiff southern wind catching the sails before they are even raised. Anyone up on deck can feel the bite of the air as they travel northwest, toward the icy, but beautiful Azure Bay.

* [PC]_Kazzria notices the two new comers to the ship, but doesnt turn from gazing at the waves "Its all we need... more people to make this trip more EXCITING"
* [PC]_Kazzria rolls her eyes

* [PC]_Link is sleeping under the shade of the ship's mast
<[PC]_Lunos> Gets up, more than just his ego bruised, and wraps his cloak around himself, looking for the place on the ship with the least eyes on it.
* [PC]_Lystos , half-asleep, comes above deck after hearing the thump of a body against wood.
<[PC]_Lystos> "What in hellfire... Who are all these people??"
<[PC]_Lystos> "Two more for our band. Let's hope they've got wits about them..."
* [PC]_JoshuaIronfall gives a heavy sigh at the woman "I deeply apologize for my lateness, it is a tad bit unusual to be traveling with such a band of adventurers."
* [PC]_Kazzria continues looking at the waves and calls over her shoulder "It seems like we have some latecomers. I trust they are worthy to be aboard, for their efforts in boarding the ship..."

<[PC]_Lunos> "Never seen a guy fall before?" Lunos looks at Kazzria. "I thought I was going to miss the boat...and it wont happen again..."
* [PC]_JoshuaIronfall shifts his sword back onto his hip and his shield onto his back securing both tightly against the mail "I am Joshua Ironfall of The Raoian Paladins..." gives a small bow with trying to maintain his sealegs abit shaky.

* [PC]_Kazzria rises fluidly from her sitting position on the bow stirs, and jumps lilghtly onto the deck, pulling up the hood of her cloak over her pointed ears. She walks swiftly towards the other end of the ship, searching for more peace.

<[PC]_Lystos> "It seems our other companions are..." *looks around* "...indisposed. Who's the fellow in the cloak?"
* [PC]_Kazzria calls over her shoulder "My name... is Kazzria.. and I have no home."

* [PC]_Kazzria heads down into the cabins, the wind blowing back her hood, and letting her loose hair fall, and her hears lay uncovered. Her scar is slightly illuminated before she closes the door with a sharp snap

<[PC]_Lunos> Moves off on his own, to a rail on the ship and looks outward at the vanishing land before, muttering quietly to himself.

* [PC]_Kazzria stumbles a few steps catching her balance. She whirls around to face the stranger and sees he had fallen on the stairs

<[DM]_Paltir> (Most of the rear and center of the ship is full of cargo and teh crew sleeping quarters. The forward.... place, of the ship has the officer and passengers quarters. Most of you are doubling up. I don' thave anything specific, what are you looking for?)

* [PC]_Kazzria goes into her cabin and closes the door, muttering to herself. "I KNEW human passage was going to be complicated..."

<[PC]_Adonis> "Oh, pardon me, again I've got carried out, excitement caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting to be that...ethusiastic about sea travel."
<[DM]_Paltir> The ship on which you sail is a very large trading vessel. Nearly 125 feet long, It houses ample cargo room, and 3 full sails. Coupled with it's length, the ship is almost 40 feet wide, making it more than large enough for everyone to have space for themselves above decks. Below decks is another matter, what with this being one of the last shipments to Azure Bay before the winter, it is bursting.
<[DM]_Paltir> Three days have passed since you set sail, and you are settling into life at sea, which, contrary to popular belief, is INCREDIBLY boring. Until late on the first day, you could make out the coast as you made your way north, but slowly it faded. Now you can see nothing but endless ocean. The sailors are generally social, especially after getting into the liquor, but quickly change tone when you get in the way of them running the ship, generally with a quick curse or two under the breath.

* [PC]_Kazzria leaves her cabin and makes her way on deck to check the progress of the ship. She has spent most of the time in her room, only coming out to eat something that isnt pickled, or was once part of an animal, and to gaze at the sea, drinking in the air. Her steps are cautioned, sticking to the shadows where she can.
<[DM]_Paltir> Yesterday, two days after your nasty encounter with the rats Link, you notice that one of the bites they gave you didn't heal as much as the rest. You also find the air to be stifling, even if the rest of the crew begins

<[DM]_Paltir> The few of you who try to take a close look at the black spec can tell it's not land, meaning you are off course. It's clearly a ship. The crew seems to visibly tense up, and several clearly eye their weapons as they go about their duties.

<[DM]_Paltir> As the ship inches closer some of the sailors give the hope that maybe it's just a merchant ship..... that is until a large rock splashes not to far off the bow of the ship, confirming what you thought all along. Pirates....

<[DM]_Paltir> As the ship gets closer you can see this ship clearly now, a large number of goblins stand around the railing, weapons of various type and quality shown. Mounted on the aft of the ship is a large ballista, an large bolt with an attached chain coiled beside him.

* [PC]_Kazzria readies herself, planting her feet and drawing her bow tight against her chest, slinging her quiver of arrows from her shoulder to a place where they are easily reached
<[DM]_Paltir> To the rear you see a large creature, some type of ogre. loading another large rock into the ballista.

<[DM]_Paltir> Various orcs and other goblinoids mill about doing work, and preparing to board.

<[DM]_Paltir> One of the goblins, panicking like they do, decides to do a very goblin thing. Deal the most damage as he possibly can, which would at this point be the loaded catapult back there. Of course, the ogre is the only one who can fire the thing, resulting in a rather poor shot.
